Major Career Interests
Trauma Surgery
My major interest lies in trauma surgery. This includes the management of soft tissue injuries and fractures of the limbs and pelvis. I have a particular interest in reconstructive lower limb surgery and the management of osteomyelitis and the complications of fractures to the pelvis, acetabulum and lower limb.
Foot & Ankle Surgery
My elective practice consists of foot and ankle surgery, dealing with deformity, degeneration and injuries to the foot and ankle, utilizing arthroscopic and minimal access techniques where appropriate. I work in close liaison with podiatrists and physiotherapists.
Medico-Legal Work
I am fully conversant with the requirements of CPR 35. I produce more than 200 reports per annum. Currently about 10% are for the defence, but many reports are now produced as a Single Joint Expert. I also undertake medical negligence work as an expert for claimant and defence, and under the NHSLS.
I have attended course on preparation of medical reports, developing a medico-legal practice and the Society of Expert Witnesses annual meeting and the Bond Solon seminar. I have experience, as an expert witness, in Court. I am registered on the database of experts with APIL and the Directory of Expert Witnesses.
